Excerpts taken from official website: "Kris Dollimore is one of the finest exponents of electric and acoustic guitar the UK has yet produced and he emphatically re-states his case for a wider audience beyond cult status with an electrifying debut album called ‘02/01/1978’."

"After honing his skills with various local Kent groups, in 1985 at the tender age of 19 Kris became a founder member and lead guitarist with the legendary English rock’n’roll group The Godfathers. The Godfathers enjoyed a fanatical cult audience worldwide and Kris Dollimore’s ferocious guitar sound and wild stage performances enhanced their reputation as a must see live act."

"Kris left The Godfathers in 1990 to become a much sought after session guitar for hire. He played on former Dead Boys singer Stiv Bators solo album (‘Last Race’) along with Johnny Thunders and Dee Dee Ramone and toured the globe with 80’s idol Adam Ant. He then joined punk rock pioneers The Damned and alongside original members Dave Vanian and Rat Scabies recorded their ‘I’m Alight Jack And The Beanstalk’ album, as well as performing several world tours. After teaming up with Scots rockers Del Amitri for the top 30 album ‘Can You Do Me Good’ and the top 10 ‘Hatful Of Rain’, Kris also produced and played lead guitar on several tracks for American country-rock singer Eileen Rose (the ‘Shine Like It Does’ and ‘Long Shot Novena’ albums)."

Babble & Beat - ‘02/01/1978’, your debut release, is blowing people away - there’s one outstanding review right after another! I’m guessing you’re working on new material already...

Have you been thinking about your next album? Will you be focusing on the blues again?

Kris - Yes, I've been thinking of nothing else for the last few months. As much as I love my current album, I'm itching to get in the studio to do the next one. It will be primarily a blues based album. I've been knocking around with lots of ideas live, for the last few months. It is also likely to involve the same team, Stuart Turner producing and sound engineering by Jim Riley at Ranscombe Studios.

Babble & Beat - What is the first thing that comes to mind to use as cover art for that 2nd album?

Kris - I've no idea at the moment. I'm still deciding which songs to include on the album!

Babble & Beat - When you were in The Godfathers, did it ever cross your mind that you’d make a Blues album on your own someday?

Kris - I've always had the desire to be a solo performer, to be completely self contained and I've always had a deep love of the blues since I first started playing the guitar. But in saying all that, when I was in The Godfathers, I just wanted to be in a rock n roll band and live the rock n roll life.

Babble & Beat - Some reading this may not be aware that Peter Coyne (The Godfathers) is your manager. In 2005 you sent him a CD of your solo work, to see what he thought, and he loved it! You asked if he wanted to manage you and he said "yes."

In what ways are you opposite but compliment one another?

Kris - Pete has the gift of the gab and the drive and enthusiasm. I have the vision and the creativity. So, in short I make the music and he sells it.

Babble & Beat - Congratulations on the birth of baby Jemma (April 7th)! So, what are you getting... almost 3 hours of sleep a night now?

Kris - Thank you. Yes, that's about right. Things are starting to get better.

Babble & Beat - How have your children influenced you (that affects Kris the musician)?

Kris - Massively. They give me the drive and inspiration from the moment I get up to the time I go to bed and during my sleep as well.

Babble & Beat - You and Rat Scabies once formed a band called The Germans. What happened to that band... was it short-lived or just a side project? You guys only released one song, ‘War Machines’, right?

Kris - We never actually released anything, it was just a demo that we sold at gigs. It was meant to be a bit of a laugh and had it lead on to bigger things it would have been fine, but obviously it didn't...

Babble & Beat - Of all of The Damned’s songs you contributed to which is your absolute favorite?

Kris - Probably, 'I need a life'... although I do include a version of 'Testify' in my set from time to time.

Babble & Beat - I’m also a huge Adam Ant fan. Can you tell us a bit about your experiences while touring with him on his Wonderful tour?

Kris - I have to say that Adam Ant was always the perfect gentleman to me. He was always kind and considerate and very funny too. A true professional. He did have a few little quirks but it's not my place to reveal them.

Babble & Beat - I gathered he was a bit of a comedian!

What are the chances of a near-future tour for you in the U.S.?

Kris - Well, I haven't been asked yet. Though I do have a deep rooted fear of flying, so I'd better book my boat ticket now.

This is where we ask personal questions for the fans. Yeah, they're often stupid questions. We like reading the answers though!

Babble & Beat - What are the last two fantastic films you’ve seen?

Kris - Amelie and Saving Private Ryan. Two completely opposite films but based in the same country.

Babble & Beat - You’ve worked with so many amazing artists! Any particular musicians come to mind that you’d love to work with but haven’t had the pleasure to yet?

Kris - Iggy Pop is the one person I would love to work with. I could play those songs better than anyone.

Babble & Beat - Please tell us something else you are really good at and something you are really horrible at. (Not music-related)

Kris - I'm pretty good at DIY but rubbish at getting around to do it.

Babble & Beat - One of the funniest times you’ve had in your career was when...

Kris - There have been far too many to just pick one. I shall reveal more when I get around to writing my biography!!!!
