New Wave / Pop / Electronic

Bands like The Vettes are why I do what I do. They come seemingly out of nowhere and fill me with excitement!

Their sound is fresh and upbeat. In the dumps? Being lazy? Put this gem on and it'll kick your cute 'lil bottom into a happy and productive gear. The vocals, by Rachel "Vette", are sticky sweet and yet they have depth by conveying emotion, intelligence, experience, some sassiness, and strength.

Their ‘Demos’ EP is something they should be very proud of. Each of the 5 songs are tight, catchy, and extremely memorable. There are some subtle hints of influence by The Killers & The Bravery – or is it the other way around?! The music will definitely get you moving, whether you’re a dancer or not.

My favorite tracks are ‘Tongue of Fire’ and ‘Invincible’– although I like them all very much. This EP includes a cool remix of ‘Tongue of Fire’ where, I believe, they sampled the classic ‘Let It Whip’ by the Dazz Band on super-speed mode.

The Vettes sound like: “We have major record companies fighting over us in a bidding war.” Yeah, how the hell are these guys unsigned? Seriously, I think this band is going straight to the top. You can buy this EP, thank me later, for a measly $5.00 by clicking the link below this review.

FYI -The 4 guys in the band also play in The Hush.
