Indie / Pop / Rock

CD sleeve states: “This album was recorded in the West of Scotland over two different centuries, using the best equipment not-much-money could hire. It is dedicated to lazy people everywhere and to all those who feel weighed down by jobs, mortgages and/or responsible parenthood. And also to those who would tend to postpone the lonesome grind of hard graft in order to watch stuff on the telly.”

This album is jam-packed with witty & entertaining pop/rock music! Some of the best we've heard this year! We thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

‘Novelty Act’ and ‘…and Consequently’ – These songs are perfection! They also feature moments of Elvis Costello genius in songwriting and voice forms. Favorites on the album!

'25 O’Clock’ – Another fantastic track. Has a great beat and is very danceable. You can hear just a little bit of Squeeze in here.

‘The Abracadabra Man’ – This song is witty and it grew on me fast. Its melodies are interesting and it has a relaxing quality to it.

‘Mr. And Mrs. Frankenstein’ – “One flash of lightning, and a thousand million dollars later, you get the face you need, smiling like an alligator, she looks at the camera with a deadly plastic smile, …” A fun song about the craziness of cosmetic plastic surgery.

‘Constantinople’ is absolutely beautiful! It has a melody and flavor somewhat similar to that of classic Crowded House.

‘Plastic Jesus’ proves that song order means nothing. Despite being track 12 it is one of the best on the album.

Besides for personal play, I highly recommended this for college radio and coffee houses. I’d definitely have a few more cups of brew if The Eisenhowers were playing!
