Tanner Horn & The Astronauts Before Breakfast are fixtures on the L.A. music scene. This is a review of their debut release.

The CD starts with, ‘Panica’. Wow, this song will get anyone out of a rut! It has completely shifted my too-early-in-the-morning mood within seconds. There’s a bit of a Modest Mouse feel to this song. Hey DJs, play this and watch ‘em line up to ask who’s playing.

‘Hole in My Soul’ – This just rocks! Lots of energy and passion. It’s like having a circus in my living room, without having to clean up the mess.

‘My Perverted Mind’ – Another insanely hot track! A mix of Kings of Leon, Arcade Fire, Steven Tyler, and Mick Jagger qualities came to mind. So powerful!

‘My Whole Life’ – The train comes to an abrupt stop with this slower song. A good song, mind you. Guys can be sensitive, this is proof. Or was he being sarcastic? I'm not sure. Make it what you want it to be!

‘Crazy Days’ – Rocks as good as the best of Black Crowes tunes.

‘For the Ladies’ is the closing track, an acoustic gem.

Bottom line – Highlights for me are the first 3 songs on this 6 song debut. I’m blown away. Tanner Horn & The Astronauts Before Breakfast are supa-starz. Seriously.
