Indie / Powerpop / Rock

Bottom line: We love it!

While listening to this CD the following thoughts about it came to mind: smart rock, outstanding songwriting, feel-good, and solid.

‘Thinking About Her’ – A song so good that you’d think the great Elvis Costello wrote.

‘Steal Her Thunder’ – No, the title’s not a Jack Black quote (he LOVES the word “thunder”)! There are moments when I hear just a little bit of Tom Petty in this great tune.

‘Dime Store Lies’ – Crowded House meets Mr. Costello. This is a very well-written and catchy song. I immediately took to it.

‘Tell Me What It Takes’ has a sixties mixed with the eighties sound. Really love it! It’s the first time I have heard it and I’m attempting to sing along already.

‘Sooner Or Later’ – Ok. This is my favorite song thus far. Could almost pass as an Oasis song too.

‘Like I Do’ – Wow, don’t try to categorize this versatile band! I wouldn’t have guessed this really good bluesy tune to be by the same band.

‘Blue Eyes’ – Hmmm. I'm not feeling this song. Has a Country style but that aside, I just don’t think it’s nearly as good as the other songs I've heard so far.

‘Lucky Me’ – I thought this song sounded familiar! We recently reviewed Mary Lee Cortes’ new album…and it turns out she co-wrote this track with Smash Palace’s Stephen Butler. I really enjoyed this version as well!
