Indie / Shoegaze / Pop

Githead features Colin Newman of Wire, Max Franken & Malka Spigel of Minimal Compact, and Robin Rimbaud of Scanner.

'On Your Own' is so much better than the majority of the pop songs that are controlling the radio waves. By the way, I honestly had no idea that they knew my ex-boyfriend.

'Drop' is a seducing, sexy tune that walks right up to you from across the room, all the time retaining direct eye contact.

'Drive By' smacks you up and whirls you 'round the dance floor. It's a totally infectious song. I want to know all the words by heart NOW!

'These Days' is a really pretty track with a fantastic beat that has become one of my favorites on this release.

'Jet Ear Game' - Layered melodies and muffled, robotic vocals showcase an interesting and other-worldly style. You can definitely hear some Wire influence in this one. I just love it!

'Space Game' - A simiar style to the above track but with a warm, grinding rhythm. A really great club song! This is another major highlight.

Ok, I have to say that this CD is worth whatever price it goes for a couple songs in. It just doesn't let you down in any way, shape or form!

There's lots of energy in 'All Set Up'; it's a really strong and upbeat track. The positive vibe coming off of it is unreal. I swear that the room got a few shades brighter.

'Darkest Star', 'Rotterdam', and 'Live in Your Head' are endearing and pleasing as all heck... You know what? The music that Githead is creating is amazing, and clearly significant and should not be passed on. You're only going to win with 'Art Pop.'

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Githead for giving me 'Art Pop' to review!!
