Oh my God! Where the hell have I been? Have you heard this yet?!

‘Exploding Girl’ – Not only is this a divinely gorgeous track, it’s also thought provoking. What is an exploding girl? You can count on Michael to write interesting and passionate lyrics and music. As some of you may know, he also infuses his live performances with that same creativity. ‘Exploding Girl’ It's a definite highlight, of several to come, on this cd.

‘Love No Longer’ - How can a song tug at my heart, make me hold tears back and yet convince me to dance and replay it over and over again? Either I am a glutton for pain or Michael has mastered the art of making a painful song from the heart that people will still want to listen to on a regular basis (even when it’s not raining). This song is simply amazing and is now one of my all-time GLJ favorites.

‘Downhill Bothways’ – I am constantly singing this lush track. I especially love Michael’s vocals on this song. I'm 3 songs into this cd and I'm already wondering why there isn’t a lot more fuss over this release. The album ‘Exploding Girls’ came out in 2003 but the video for this track came out in 2006. I certainly hope that the video for this song helps stir up the interest that this album so richly deserves.

‘The Wanting Song’ – My husband’s going to try and take credit for writing this song! This song makes me look at my relationship and see things from his (Dave’s) side. That whole ‘thin line between love and hate’ thing is visited here, at least for me.

‘Jenin’ – I read somewhere that this song is loosely based on a 23 year old girl who died after she threw herself in front of a tank that was about to plow over someone else's home in Iraq. Truth? “Your spirit soars, your spirit glides, your spirit will never die.”

‘My Hearts A Flame’ – Wow! The melodies are very interesting and unique on this track especially. What a beautiful, sexy and soothing song.

‘2 Hungry Women’ – Again, I’m loving the melodies. They’re a bit unconventional sounding yet they really work. A very smart and hip tune.

‘Wind & Fire’ – This song makes me melt. I can definitely see this song being played, with fairly heavy rotation, on a COOL radio station. This song is now another all-time favorite of mine. More songwriting at its best!

“Then you tell me don’t you understand
You’ve been alone but we’ll die hand in hand
Come on baby, won’t you take me higher
There’s nothing left here but the wind & the fire”

Michael should be very proud of this release. It's THE BEST made in the name of Gene Loves Jezebel to date.
