Palladium took to the stage with a certain air of confidence, a four piece comprising of Peter on bass / lead vocals, Rostas on guitar, Rufio on keyboards, and Rocky on drums. Their energy and performance were very impressive for such a young group. Their sound was very 80s keyboard style pop along the lines of Level 42 with some great guitar work by Rostas, who looked a cross between a young Keith Richards and Luke from The Kooks. Peter's vocals were somewhat unique and made some of their songs really stand out... 'Happy Hour' and 'High 5' were two great standout tracks which would not seem out of place on any radio airplay play list. Rufio was bouncing around all over the place as he played some beautiful sounds on the keyboards. Their hair cuts and dress sense were something to be seen, all in all a very good performance that must have won them many new fans tonight.

The Feeling.

This is my 3rd outing to see The Feeling. The 1st time, to be honest, I was dragged along not really thinking that they were my thing. However, their quality of performance and music impressed me so much that I returned. They're in that so called difficult 2nd album phase. However, no such problems for The Feeling as their latest album, 'Join With Us', went straight to number one. Starting tonight's set with their latest single, 'I Thought It Was Over', the sell-out crowd showed their appreciation from the off with massive cheers. The stage set was a mixture of neon lights set on scaffolding, mirror balls, and with a further pink neon light reading "The Feeling." The band seemed especially energetic tonight with Dan and Richard spinning around and running all over the stage.

The new material sounded really great live with excellent versions of the new single, 'Without You', and 'Join With Us'. The biggest surprise of the night had to be an amazing version of Phil Oakey and Giorgio Moroder 80's hit, 'Together In Electric Dreams', which had a few of the younger members of the audience scratching their heads... obviously the older members of the audience, like me, were singing along. Ending their main set with 'Join With Us' and 'Love It When You Call' they left the stage to massive applause with the audience demanding more. The lights dimmed and a door at the left side of the stage opened and out walked the band dressed in Sgt. Pepper style white marching band uniforms, complete with instruments. They promptly, while playing their instruments, marched through the amazed audience and back on the stage to complete 'We Can Dance', their final number. My only criticism was that the show was a little short and the band could have played on for a few more songs. Maybe that's me being greedy, or maybe leaving the crowd wanting more is just a great tactic.
