The Chemical Brothers.

They never spoke — they let the music do all the talking. We were all gathered in an empty pool, the McCarren Pool Park, which had been converted from a town swimming pool into an outdoor concert hall. The light and music show that we were all waiting so desperately to enjoy was perfect in this atmosphere, as the giant strobe lights shone out into the night.

Many would argue that a techno concert is nothing more than a spinning record, but after minutes of their set everyone was a believer. While most rock concerts are about blasting music and violent mosh pits, a Chemical Brothers concert is instead a completely other gathering. As the sun set in the distance, Ed Simon and Tom Rowlands of the Chemical Brothers began to spin their music. The beat of 'Galvanize' electrified the crowd. The concert was off to a great start, with the crowd loving it, but as the concert began to swift into more unknown tracks, they started to lose the attention of the crowd.

The Chemical Brothers have been a DJ-duo for 16 years, and with all of their hits they were able to pump electricity into the crowd with the smooth sounds of 'Do It Again' and the beats of 'Block Rockin Beats'. Their mixes, thrilling lightshow and highly supportive crowd made the concert one of my top favorites for the year.
